CANIS – Radiography X system
Print

CANIS system is dedicated for cargo screening in different localizations, including seaports and land borders. CANIS consists of interlaced energy electron linac 4MeV/6MeV and detector line. Electron beam hits the conversion target and high energy X-rays production occurs. Crated photons are attenuated by the examined goods and detected in the detector line located behind the truck or container. Signals from all detectors are converted to digital form and transferred to operator's PC, where the final image is created, line by line. Dual energy mode allows for Z-related coloring to achieve the highest efficiency of contraband detection.

Radiography X computer system consists of the following components:

  1. Communication module.
  2. Data processing module.
  3. Data storage module.
  4. Sensitive materials detection module.
  5. Security module.

Electronics communication module:

  • This module is responsible for the control of electronic equipment and receiving measurement data from the accelerator. Messages and data are transferred via USB 2.0.
  • The communication protocol between the computer and electronic control provides data validation operation.

Data processing module:

  • This module uses standard graphical operations on image data. Among other things, change the brightness, contrast and gamma. Filters are also implemented blurring, sharpening, or remove noise from the image. The module also has a feature of edge detection and user can define any filter by defining a transformation matrix. This module allows you to process data from the measurement and data imported from a file or from a database.
  • This module works in two energy architecture.

Data storage module:

  • This module is based on database architecture based on dedicated data structure.
  • The module uses a dedicated data format.

Detection of the sensitive materials module:

  • This module provides the ability to group objects based overexposed to assign the test material to the target group.

Security Module:

  • This module is based on the foundations of public-key cryptography. Use of the module guarantees the correctness and authenticity of data.
